A Lifetime Devoted to Animals – From Backyard Frogs to Wildlife Rescues

From the earliest days of my childhood, animals have always been my world. Whether it was catching frogs, rescuing lizards, or bonding with neighbourhood dogs, my love for animals was instinctive — and it only grew stronger with time.

In high school, I took a part-time job at a local pet store and quickly realized this wasn’t just a passing interest — it was my calling. I threw myself into the industry, learning everything I could about animal care and customer service. Eventually, I managed and owned several pet stores within a large franchise, earning national sales awards and building a loyal customer base through genuine care and knowledge.

But my journey with animals goes far beyond the shopfront.

I’ve spent decades caring for injured and orphaned wildlife — from birds and bats to turtles, tiny geckos, skinks, Bearded Dragons, and even Lace Monitors and goannas, along with possums and more. Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation taught me patience, deep respect for nature, and the importance of understanding each species' unique needs. It also strengthened my belief that education is the most powerful tool we have to protect and care for animals.

Today, with over 40 years of hands-on experience, I offer one-on-one consultations, publish books, write educational blogs, and advocate for responsible pet ownership and wildlife protection. Whether you're navigating a behavioural issue with your dog, caring for an injured wild creature, or simply looking to make better choices for your animals — I'm here to guide you with empathy, honesty, and practical know-how.
